Trail Fundamentals MTB Clinic - July 26 (Sun), 1-4pm

Sun 26 July 2026

New to the trail or looking to build a strong foundation? This clinic is designed for adult riders and youth ages 12+ (with a parent) who want to gain confidence and control on the bike. We focus on core skills like body position, braking, shifting, and navigating basic trail features in a supportive, no-pressure environment. Our coaches break things down in a way that’s easy to understand and immediately applicable on the trail. By the end, you’ll feel more comfortable, more capable, and ready to enjoy the ride. No experience needed—just bring the stoke.

Preparation & Requirements

To ensure a safe and successful experience at the LITW Ride School, please review the following requirements before the start of camp.

Before arriving at camp, please ensure your rider is equipped with the following:

  • A Well-Maintained Bike: The bicycle must be in good working order. Tires must have knobby tread and hold air, and all components should be functional. While the bike does not need to be new, it must be trail-ready.

  • Proper Safety Gear: A properly fitted helmet and closed-toe shoes are mandatory for all participants.

  • Hydration & Nutrition: Riders must supply their own water (via a bike-mounted bottle or a hydration backpack) and snacks.

  • Emergency Spare: Please provide one bike tube that fits your rider's specific tire size.

🚵 Rider Readiness (Skill Requirements)

To participate in our MTB sessions, riders should meet the following criteria:

  • Experience: At least one year of experience riding a two-wheeled bike without assistance.

  • Braking & Gearing: The bike must be equipped with front and rear handbrakes (no coaster/pedal brakes) and selectable gears.

  • Endurance: The ability to ride 1+ miles without stopping.

  • Control: The ability to ride in a straight line, navigate gentle hills, and come to a complete stop independently.
