Alpenland Rentals

TERMS & CONDITIONS – ALPENLAND SKI & CYCLE

At Alpenland, we are committed to providing exceptional knowledge, selection, and service. To ensure a safe and seamless experience for all our guests, the following terms and conditions apply to all rentals at our locations.

1. Booking & Personal Information

By using our online booking system, you agree to provide accurate information as required on our rental forms.
Your contact details will only be used for reservation-related communications. We do not send unsolicited emails.

2. Payments

All payments are securely processed via Stripe Payment Solutions, an industry leader in payment security. Your payment information is encrypted and protected at all times.
Rentals must be paid in full prior to equipment pickup.

3. Cancellations & Refunds

Cancellations made at least 48 hours prior to the rental start time: Subject to a $5 fee per bike (or applicable equipment) plus a $5 processing fee per reservation.
Cancellations made within 48 hours of the rental start time: Subject to a $10 fee per bike (or applicable equipment) plus a $5 processing fee per reservation.
Cancellations made on the day of the rental or no-shows: No refund will be issued.
All cancellations must be submitted through our booking system or by contacting us directly.

4. Equipment Pickup and Return

Equipment is to be returned on the last day of the rental period.
Equipment must be returned directly to a staff member for check-in.

5. Late Returns

Equipment returned after the last day of the rental period is subject to a late fee of 25% of the daily rental rate per item, per day late.
Equipment not returned within 72 hours of the scheduled return date may be considered lost or stolen, and replacement charges may apply.

6. Use and Misuse of Equipment

Equipment must only be used for its intended purpose and by the person(s) named in the rental agreement.
Misuse or unauthorized transfer of equipment is strictly prohibited.
Renters must follow all local laws, road traffic regulations, and piste rules for winter sports.

7. Liability and Insurance

Renters are responsible for any loss, theft, or damage to equipment during the rental period and may be charged the current replacement value for lost or stolen items.
All equipment is used at the renter’s own risk. Alpenland is not liable for injuries or accidents occurring during use of rental equipment.
Renters are strongly encouraged to have their own liability and accident insurance, as rental fees do not include insurance coverage.

8. Deposit and Identification

Rentals must be paid in full prior to pickup. A valid government-issued ID may be required at the time of pickup.

9. Age Restrictions and Supervision

Renters must be at least 18 years of age to rent equipment. Minors must be accompanied by an adult or have written parental/guardian consent.

10. Early Termination and Force Majeure

No refunds are given for early returns unless accompanied by a medical certificate (e.g., in case of accident or illness).
No refunds are provided due to bad weather or lift closures.

11. Equipment Condition and Inspection

All equipment is inspected, cleaned, and maintained before each rental. Any pre-existing damage will be documented.
Renters should inspect equipment upon pickup and report any issues before use.
Upon return, equipment will be inspected for damage or excessive wear. Charges may apply if found.

12. Security and Storage

Equipment must be stored securely when not in use, especially overnight, to prevent theft or damage.

13. Privacy

Your personal and payment information is handled in accordance with our privacy policy and will not be shared with third parties except as required for booking and payment processing.

14. Jurisdiction and Governing Law

This agreement is governed by the laws of Alberta, Canada, and any disputes will be subject to the courts of Alberta.
