Welcome to Drive Raro Car Rentals. Please carefully read the following Terms and Conditions, which govern your rental agreement with Drive Raro. By proceeding with a rental, you agree to be bound by these terms.
1. Rental Agreement
By renting a vehicle from Drive Raro, you agree to abide by the terms and conditions set forth herein. This agreement constitutes a legally binding contract between you (the "Renter") and Drive Raro.
2. Insurance and Excess
All rentals include standard insurance coverage with an excess of NZD $1,000. A pre-authorization hold for the excess amount will be placed on the renter’s credit card prior to the commencement of the rental period. This hold will be released upon the timely return of the vehicle in the same condition as received.
3. Deposits and Payments
A non-refundable deposit is required to confirm all bookings. Full payment must be received no later than seven (7) days prior to the scheduled pickup date.
Please note: All payments, including deposits and full booking amounts, are strictly non-refundable. No refunds will be issued for cancellations, regardless of the amount of notice provided.
4. Responsibility for Damages
The renter is fully responsible for any damage to, or loss of, the rental vehicle during the rental period, including but not limited to collisions, theft, vandalism, scratches, and dents. The renter is liable for the full cost of repairs, replacement, loss of use, and related administrative expenses.
5. Return Times and Late Fees
Vehicles must be returned on or before the agreed return time stated in the rental agreement. A grace period of thirty (30) minutes is allowed. After that, a late return fee of NZD $50.00 per hour (or part thereof) will apply.
6. Fuel Policy
Vehicles must be returned with a full tank of fuel. If a vehicle is returned without a full tank, the renter will be charged the cost of refueling plus a NZD $50.00 refueling service fee. A valid fuel receipt must be left in the vehicle upon return.
7. Accidents and Incidents
In the event of an accident, damage, theft, or incident involving the rental vehicle, the renter must immediately notify Drive Raro and, where applicable, local law enforcement authorities. Failure to report incidents promptly may result in the denial of insurance coverage. The renter must fully cooperate with any investigation, insurance claims process, or legal proceedings.
8. Prohibited Uses
The following uses are strictly prohibited:

Driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs;

Operating the vehicle recklessly or negligently;

Racing, speed testing, or off-road driving;

Parking under coconut trees due to the risk of falling debris;

Driving carelessly on gravel roads or unsuitable terrain;

Engaging in any illegal activity.
Violation of these restrictions may result in immediate termination of the rental agreement, forfeiture of all payments, and further legal action.
9. Vehicle Care
The renter is expected to operate the vehicle carefully and responsibly at all times. If the renter notices any warning lights, unusual sounds, or mechanical issues during the rental, they must inform Drive Raro immediately. Routine vehicle maintenance remains the responsibility of Drive Raro.
10. Return Condition
Vehicles must be returned in the same condition as received, except for normal wear and tear. Excessive dirt, stains, strong odors, or other damages will incur additional cleaning or repair charges at Drive Raro’s discretion.
11. Indemnity
The renter agrees to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Drive Raro, its officers, employees, and affiliates from and against any claims, damages, liabilities, costs, or expenses arising from the renter’s use or possession of the vehicle.
12. Acceptance of Terms
By confirming a booking and/or taking possession of a rental vehicle, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms and Conditions, and agree to be legally bound by them throughout the rental period.
