Stuff you need to know to get started:

• Rentals are for a minimum of 24 hours up to 30 days. 
• We do not offer hourly rentals. 
• If you have a special request please contact us via email rentals@hamiltonelectricbikes.ca or call 905-545-2424 and we will work with you to try to accommodate your request. 
• On weekends there is a minimum of two day rentals as we are closed on Sundays. If for example you wish to rent on a Saturday, you would have the rentals for two days, Saturday and Sunday and would return the rentals on Monday. You would pay the two day rate.

Ebike Rental Fees 2023

Cancellation Policy:

• If you cancel your rental 48 hours before your rental timeslot there will be no cancellation fees.
• If you cancel your rental between 24-48 hours there will be a 25% administration fee.
• If you cancel the day of your rental there will be a 50% administration fee

• Be sure to bring ID for each rider and credit card. Waiver forms and ID checks must be completed and verified in person at Hamilton Electric Bikes before the rental is complete
• Carefully inspect the rental prior to use to ensure the eBike is in good operating condition
• Test the operating components before proceeding including, but not limited to the brakes, tires, gears, pedals, lights, frame, bell and seat
• Promptly notify staff of any defect, malfunction or needed repair
• Adjust seat to proper height prior to operating the eBike
• Adjust Bike riding behavior for safe operation according to weather conditions
• Practice riding the ebike and learning how to use the shifters, throttle, brakes, peddle asset etc in a safe place such as an empty parking lot, secluded bike path, side street etc and adjust your riding behavior to match your abilities and experience before heading out on your ride. For example, don’t jump on the ebike and immediately drive down a very busy street or path if you haven't ridden in years, never been on an ebike before or haven’t at least acquainted yourself with your rental ebike
• By law helmets must be worn and worn properly at all times while operating an eBike in Ontario. You can bring your own helmet or one can be rented ahead of time or when you arrive
• If your rental is not returned on the designated day and time extra rental charges will be incurred
• If your rental is not returned you will be responsible for the full retail price to replace the rental
• If your rental is missing parts or extras such as charger, battery, lock, seat, screen, car rack, truck bag or any other removable components or has sustained damage to any parts, extras or components extra chargers will be incurred at the full retail price
  

RESTRICTED USES

• Allow any other person to use the rental or allow a second person on the rental (Double riding). Unless it is a child in an approved childrens bike carrier
• Riding  your rental off road on ungroomed or hilly dirt trails is prohibited unless your rental is classified as an e-MTB (electric mountain bike)
• Use the rental if you have any existing physical or mental condition that would prohibit you from safely operating the rental
• Operate a rental while under the influence of alcohol, drugs, or any other substance that impairs your ability to safely operate the rental
• Operate a rental while carrying any item that impedes your ability to safely operate the rental
• Operate a rental while attempting to exercise your pet (Such as walking your dog)
• Use any cell phone or mobile electronic device, for the purposes of phone calls, text messages, music or any other use that distracts you from the safe operation of the rental
• Overfilling or placing objects weighing more than 25 KGs (55 pounds) on the rear rack. NOTE: child carriers are allowed on the rear rack but it it not intended to carry adults or kids over 25 KGs (55 pounds)
• Operate the rental in any manner if there is a change in the weather conditions that make it unsafe to do so. Such as: hail, snow, heavy rain, extreme wind or other weather anomalies
• Ride or operate a rental that has any defect, fails to operate as a properly functioning bicycle or that is in need of repair
• Continue using the rental if it, or any component on it, should become defective or malfunction
• Use the rental for racing, tricks riding, jumping, stunt riding, horse play or any other activities that could be dangerous for the rider, other riders, vehicles, pedestrians or the public in general
• Use the rental for any commercial purposes without the written consent of Hamilton Electric Bikes
• Tow, pull, carry or push any person or object with a rental
• Remove or modify any accessories, parts or components of your rental
• It is the responsibility of the rider to know any applicable federal, provincial, or local laws pertaining to ebikes and to not violate these laws. Here is a link to Ontario.ca (https://www.ontario.ca/page/riding-e-bike)
