Cancellation Policy

We monitor the river conditions daily for safe travel by 3ROC visitors. In the event the river is not safe due to inclement weather or high river conditions, we will try to notify you as soon as possible. Visitors will be issued a full refund based.

Cancellations received prior to 48 hours of the reservation date/time will not be charged any fees.

Cancellations received under 48 hours of reservation date/time will be charged a 50% fee.

Cancellations received under 24 hours or any no shows will be charged a 100%.

• Ages 3 to 12 (35 lb minimum) - Must be in a tandem kayak with a parent or guardian AND parent or guardian must sign an Acknowledgement & Assumption of Risk Form for each child.

• Ages 13-15 - May be in a solo kayak, but must be accompanied by a parent or guardian on the water. Must also have a parent or guardian sign an Acknowledgement & Assumption of Risk Form.

• Ages 16-17 - May be in a solo kayak on water alone, but a parent or a guardian must sign an Acknowledgement & Assumption of Risk Form.

• Ages 18 and older - Must sign an Acknowledgement & Assumption of Risk Form

Rules and Regulations

• The park is roughly one mile upstream from the Highland Park Dam which is difficult to see and VERY dangerous. Kayakers are only permitted to travel upstream away from the bridges and the city.
  

• Every person in a kayak, canoe, inflatable raft or paddleboard must wear a U.S. Coast Guard-approved, wearable type I, II, III, or V life jacket of appropriate size.

• No customer will be permitted to operate a watercraft under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

• No boat fights: bumping or trying to capsize each other

• No water fights: using paddles to try to swamp another boat

3ROC Staff reserves the right to terminate any rental without refund if any of the above rules are violated.

Provided Equipment

• A properly fitted Personal Flotation Device (PFD)

• A properly fitted kayak that is suitable for the weight and height limits of the paddler(s). We have the following brands available to rent and buy - Current Designs, Red

• A properly fitted paddle

• A signaling device (e.g., whistle)

Recommended Equipment

• Weather/paddle-appropriate clothing and footwear. Dress for water temperature. Always be prepared for immersion in water.

• Dress in layers for cooler water

• Outer layer: Weather (protects from sun, wind, and/or water) e.g. nylon

• Fabrics: Synthetics-good (dry quickly), cotton-bad (holds water)

• Light weight, non-slip, closed toe footwear that stay on feet in water

• Hat and sunscreen for sun protection

• Sunglasses

• Bring extra layers in a waterproof bag

• Leave a dry change of clothes in the car

• Water bottle with carabiner clip for securing to boat

• Snacks sealed in bags

• Drybag to store phone/valuables

Weather

In the event that weather conditions change while on the water, you should first seek safety by pulling on shore or returning to the launch area. If you pull ashore please attempt to notify 3ROC so we are aware of your safety and can make arrangements to pick you up.

Equipment Damage

Renter is responsible for returning equipment in the condition which it was at the time of rental agreement. Any abnormal damage, or loss of rental equipment will be charged at replacement value.
