Rental Deposit, Payment &
Security Deposit:
1. Direct client bookings: A personal credit card
guarantee is required to process your booking request. Presentation of valid
photo ID and valid credit card (driver’s license, passport, voluntary ID card)
is required upon delivery of equipment. Payment for confirmed services is
processed locally upon delivery of equipment. Your credit card will be stored
in a vault for use with:
a) cancellation penalty in the event your booking is cancelled after
confirmation and
b) the obligatory security deposit in the event of damage of theft to
equipment. Credit card(s) will be preauthorized & tokenized on the day of
pickup to cover any eventual late returns, theft of or damage to the equipment.
Authorized amounts may take up to 30 days after departure to be released by
your bank or financial institution and MacQueen’s will not be responsible for
any resulting fees or charges.
Payment for your pre-determined rental period must be negotiated in full
locally and a waiver signed before equipment is released into your possession.
2. Tour Operators: While
you may guarantee client services against an agency credit card, prepayment via
e-transfer must be received in our account no later than 31 days in advance of
service initiation. If interested in lowering administrative and banking costs,
we accept lump sum deposits and apply individual deposits incrementally as
bookings are received. Services may be cancelled and corresponding cancellation
penalty applied if e-transfer payment in full is not confirmed in our account
per that schedule. Local submission of a client credit card is obligatory for
the equipment security deposit, and signature of a waiver will be required from
each rental customer and/or their guardian in the case of minors.
Tour operators / 3rd party agents must make their clients fully aware of all
MacQueen’s rental terms & conditions prior to making a booking on their
behalf.
Responsibility for Damage or
Loss: Rental customers agree they will return the
equipment in the same good condition as when received, ordinary wear and tear
excepted, and to repair and replace lost or stolen, damaged or broken bicycles
or parts or to reimburse MacQueen’s for said equipment. MacQueen’s does not
offer theft/damage insurance. In the event equipment is stolen or damaged, the
renter named in the rental contract accepts legal responsibility for
reimbursing its full retail replacement value.
Rental Cancellation
Policy: Our summer season on Prince Edward Island is
relatively short, and cancelled bookings impact our operation and bottom line.
To avoid cancellation penalties, avoid reserving equipment before your travel
is confirmed. If visiting PEI, consider cancellation insurance to protect your
travel investment from unforeseen circumstances including, but not limited to,
weather, illness, injury or changes to your travel schedule.

all of our bikes are professionally serviced between rentals, bicycles may

bicycle tour we strongly recommend that you have some basic bicycle maintenance
knowledge.

or theft insurance. If interested in acquiring travel or other insurance coverage
for rental equipment, we recommend checking to see if your homeowners policy
offers coverage, purchasing it locally in your province/state/country of

item promptly when due, and that in the event equipment is stolen or damaged,
the renter named in the rental contract will be responsible for its retail
replacement value, and the rental agent is hereby released from all claims
arising therefrom. All charges are based on the time the item is in the
renter’s possession whether in use or not. The rental agent is not responsible
for accidents or injuries caused directly or indirectly in the use of the
rented item.
